Rosacea - foods to avoid

In this post, I'm going to share with you a list of foods you should avoid in order to stay away from rosacea or at least slow down its symptoms dramatically.

As mentioned in many of my previous posts, a very dear friend of mine used to have rosacea, and it made her life hell!

It made her depressed, angry, and anxious about her looks!

And even worse, she was only thirty-six years old when she got it!

It was devastating to her, however, after avoiding the foods I'm going to mention in this post, and of course, following her doctor’s prescription and taking her antibiotics, she was able to slow down the symptoms and even get rid of many of them very quickly and efficiently.

So, without further ado, here are the foods you need to avoid if you have rosacea:

  • Pork


I didn't know about this one, but my friend told me that she had the most success when she stopped eating pork in general, it made her life easier and it also made her lose a lot of weight, so, you have nothing to lose, you should try it as well.

  • Poultry and eggs


It seems that these foods are filled with bacteria and pathogens that are going to harm your skin, so, when suffering from rosacea, you should stay away from them as much as possible.

  • Refined sugars


These tend to also be extremely pro-inflammatory and increase redness and inflammations in your skin, so, stay away from refined sugars as much as possible, especially corn syrup.

  • White flour and white rice


These tend to also be very pro-inflammatory and need to be cut down as much as possible.

  • Vegetable oil


With the exception of olive oil and some other fatty acids, too much fat in your diet tends to causes inflammations to our skins, so, better stay away from them.

  • Spicy foods


It seems that too much spices in your diet can increase rosacea symptoms, so, avoid this as well, which is not very difficult if you don't like spicy food.

  • Alcohol


Of course, this is a no!

Alcohol has been linked to rosacea for many years now and it should be completely avoided, from beer to hard liquor, you should avoid anything with alcohol content!

  • Dairy products


These are also filled with toxins and other chemicals, especially highly processed products, and as my friend told me, cutting down on eggs, pork, and dairy gave her the most impressive results, and to this day, she doesn't consume these foods.

You may be wondering what you can eat?

Well, you can eat nuts, pasta, vegetables, legumes, fish from time to time, fruits, soy products etc. these foods are very healthy and are not going to harm your body.
